Including All Learners
Our aim is for each child to reach his or her potential and we provide a fully inclusive education for all our learners. If a child has a specific physical, emotional or learning need then we adapt our provision to ensure accessibility to our curriculum.
Special Educational Needs Provision
We aim to identify a child’s special educational needs as early as possible, in order to address each child’s specific needs and ensure that each child reaches his or her potential. We monitor the progress of all our children closely and hold Pupil Progress Meetings each half-term. Any child not making expected progress is a cause for concern and is supported according to his or her needs. Children who are identified as having additional educational needs are entered onto our Special Education Needs Register, in consultation with parents/carers, and are closely monitored by our Inclusion Leader, Ms Blackmore.
Partnerships with Professionals
It may be that there is a specific difficulty hindering a child's progress and we may refer to an outside agency, in consultation with parents/carers, who will advise on strategies to overcome the difficulty.
Partnership with Parents
We aim to foster a strong partnership with parents where all parents feel valued and listened to. We encourage parents to liaise with their child’s class teacher or the Inclusion Leader if they have any concerns.
